Life Size Bronze Scultpture

Peter was commissioned by Mercy Health to create a sculpture to place at the entrance of their administration and training centre in Thurgoona (near Albury NSW). Peter was asked to create an artwork that reflected the work done by Mercy Health in the area. Mercy Health run many houses, centers and activities for the benefit of people with mental and physical challenges. Their philosophy is that the staff and the clients walk side by side and face life's challenges together.

As part of Peter's research for this project he visited many of the homes and day centers. He created and ran a 3 day workshop. He got to know many of the people who work for Mercy Health.

The sculpture is based on a friens of Peter's in Sydney who life and work 'mirrors' Peter's experiences in Lavington. The sculpture represents a graceful figure with great emotional potential and peace.
